You change your mind, like a girl change her clothes...

yeah, that line in katy perry's song it's just perfect for my bosses. i work at a small hotel in the outskirts of lisbon. besides the rushed-up opening, hotel management rules change with the wind. i don't have a degree in hotel management (they have attended a small course for about 3 months. pur-lease, in my college the minimum time is 1 year) but everyone could manage this hotel a million times better than they do. and when things don't go well, they blame, yeah, you guessed, us. so typical, yet frustrating beyond belief, when they start with their shit i can't concentrate in anything else for the rest of the day, it's like a black n decker in my brain, and unintentionally i do more shit. argh!

while it is possible that they may be partially right in blaming you for foul ups if you are fouling up it is also true that good management takes the lead and instructs their subordinates so the same mistakes don't recur.

also, seeking for villains and blaming others is what a child does when they are defensive and seeking to avoid blame or punishment. a leader in management takes the situation, changes it to a better one, a learning lesson and moves on.

i encourage you to learn as much as you can and see if in a year or so you can move to a better-run establishment.
