my boss is always trying to make me look like an idiot.

I work for a co-op management for a few years.
We have a new boss who thinks he knows it all. he is constantly talking and gossoping about other people. always pointing out everyone mistakes.
he think he is god and that he is the most hard working person in the world. he does nothing all day, always on his emails and dealing shady deals..i dont trust him and i am tired of always hearing how great he is, how great he is @ everything he does. never once has he ever said that anyone is a great worker. he is a freakin jerk and i got to the point that i cant stand to look @ him.
i wish someone would give him a taste of his own crap..got hopes.!!!!

People who toot their own horn are insecure and wanting attention and affirmation. They make some of the worst leaders ever.

I am sorry you have a manager like this. I think it is okay for leaders to take credit if their team does something right -- provided they give credit to the whole team. But what I don't like is these are usually the very same people who refuse to take any blame when things go wrong.

I'd like to think he just learned this behavior from someone but he reminds me of a kid who is trying to prove he is the biggest and the best instead of just showing he is by working harder and producing more and letting others acknowledge it.

I have a stupid boss too (I wonder if he really stupid + PLAIN LAZY or just stupid). But I hate it when he says this: I will just sign off till I get my head around things. And ask me to convince him that things are right.

Daily - it is a struggle with self not to be unprofessional. HELP.
