| I bet she'd give me SS#'s if I asked! |
|
I have a very gossipy boss who shares personal information about other employees to me all the time. She also talks very badly of her own supervisors. She constantly is blurting out things that I think should be confidential and then saying "but don't tell anyone" or "I only told you since I trust you." This has been going on since I took the position a few months ago and it makes me feel uncomfortable. I keep my mouth shut, though, since she has a reputation of firing those who she thinks don't want to be her friends. I do not feel like she is a friend, but she has started calling me after hours and on the weekends as well. I love my job otherwise.
Some recent tidbits she announced to me:
1 The yearly salary of herself and a coworker
2 Why a co-worker got fired (sexual harrassment) and read the e-mails he had sent that got him fired
3 Which of her bosses are jerks
4 Who is going to be fired next
I HATE this stuff. She calls me during dinner time AT HOME to tell me things. I just want to scream! I am afraid to lose my job and the economy is horrible in my area, so I don't think I could find another job if I lost this one.
I recently stopped replying to any calls or e-mails that were not work related, but she's constantly bugging me now with "are you mad at me?" And "what's wrong with you." I am afraid she's getting to the point where I'll be fired, but what else am I supposed to do!
