FED UP!

I cringe at myself much of the time because I am unable to keep my mouth closed when I see incompetence, unjust practices, failure to comply with policy, etc. I have worked for a company tooooo long - have been a supervisor, moved out of state, returned to the company as a "staffer." The grass is NOT greener on this side. It's making me physically ill to watch the blunderings of new management despite written policy, compliance practices that are regulated by the state and county, and all the other stuff they are supposed to be "managing."

i have been actively seeking other employment to no avail (economy is bad, returning to school to improve skills both cut into my chances for being employed elsewhere).

It's heartbreaking when you know you do things "right" and others are too idiotic to just follow their OWN WRITTEN PROCEDURES...that you just don't count anymore! FOOLS - they'll miss me when i'm gone!

i understand where you are at and can sypathize with your feelings. fortunately, it sounds like you are no longer in management so it is up to the new leaders to get it right, not you.

you could be helpful and offer to assist anyone open to your asisstance.

I no longer work for a company that has all kinds of incompatence at the management level. One of the main problems with incompetence is that the people that are aware of such a thing generally are not managers. It almost seems that incompetence is a neccesary trait to gain employement as a manager.

Why is it that everyone tells you to make your bad boss look good.
To me that seems like it just perpetuates the problem.
They lie - don't call them out on in and continue to do their work for them.
They bully - work harder??
I am sorry - I wouldn't accept being in an abusive freindship or relationship. If someone isn't treating you right - it should be stopped.
If a boss is too stupid to do their job - don't do it for them. Let them fail.

Cindy, my thought was that if she offered to help an incompetent boss, they may take her upon it and appreciate the help. I don't mean "do their work for them". I mean help them get their job done.

I agree with you about abusive relationships. I was in one with a boss for a year before he fired me and it did some damage to my emotionally (psychology) because I felt I had no other choice but to continue in my position due to my economic fragility. I now believe if you feel you are being abused or bullied, you should update your resume, start a new job search, save as much as you can financially and leave as soon as possible.

I agree withyou cindy. I spent eight years at a company working for some one that I beleive did a lousy job as a manager. I said something to the owner of the business and I ended up getting fired for no reason. I truly regret not leaving the company sooner, because I helped the company grow from 1000 square ft to 20,000 square ft. and now he sits back and never really had to work for any of it. Now I have to start over and it really confuses me. I thought hard work was supposed to pay off. It really feels like it pays off for slack asses who get lucky to have you do the hard work for them.

My boss is such a bully, karma will catch up with her.
TooMuchDrama on 18 August 2010 10:31:33
we reap what we sew and karma always pays off. we all eventually get what we deserve -- good for good and evil for evil.

the struggle is doing your best and working not to become like the people you despise.
